Transparent quartz in various shades of purple, it is the most precious variety of quartz used in jewelry. In the Middle Age they said that the amethyst encouraged celibacy and symbolized piety. Its name derives from the Greek amethystos which means “not drunk”. In fact, amethyst was considered a strong antidote against drunkenness and still today it symbolizes sobriety.

Jadeite is considered the true jade, more precious than nephrite because it has a much brighter green color and greater translucency. It is always been considered a royal gem in China. In fact, in Chinese Yu is used to indicate something precious – the equivalent of golden. Jadeite jade comes from Myanmar. It is said that it brings abundance, prosperity, serenity, wisdom, longevity. For thousands of years, jade has been the symbol of love and virtue.

The kyanite (or cyanite) was first identified by the German gemologist Abraham Gottlob Werner in 1789. Until then, it had been considered a blue sapphire. The name Kyanite comes from the Greek word kyanos which means “deep blue”. The most important mining area is along the Kali Gandaki river in Central Eastern Nepal. It is said that wearing a Kyanite gives an intuitive and free vision of life, thanks to the energies released from the subconscious.
